In accordance with the most recent Government and Church of England guidelines, places of worship must remain closed. However, a single nominated person is permitted to enter for private prayer, recording or streaming of services and checking the building. Guidelines stress that there is absolutely no pressure for the building to be used in this way at the present time, especially where ministers are able to make other arrangements to provide online digital resources. St Paul’s currently provides a weekly pre-recorded service called ‘Sunday worship’.
For the moment churchwarden Matthew Cooper is the person nominated to check on the condition of the building and he has kindly agreed to continue in this role. Matthew will also provide recorded items such as readings and prayers, along with relevant photographs, for inclusion in the weekly online service.
